6 Tips for dealing with Business stress

Running a business can be both a very rewarding yet challenging part of a persons life. Often running a business is never a 9-5 operation rather consuming your time 24-7 in some capacity or another.


1. Have a plan

Having a business plan in place is important, both in the short term and longer time to give your business some direction and ultimately focus your efforts. Not been concentrated on a clear goal, can often lead to undue stress of thinking about everything but the thing you should most be working on.


2. Have the right team around you

Having the right people around you is critical to business success and operating in an optimal fashion. Having the right business partners, staff and advisors is what really sets a business apart and having the right people to discuss and solve matters will significantly help a business owner.


3. Have a hobby outside of work

Its important to also take some time outside of work to de-stress and enjoy the other parts of your life. It might be as simple as spending time with your family or enjoying your favorite past-time. Having a part of your life set aside that isn't about work helps to clear your vision. You will often find when you go back to work you will be much clearer in your thinking.


4. Rank you tasks

One of the causes of stress in business is having so many things to work on that none of them get done. If you try to do a little bit of each task, you will complete few of them. Don’t try to do everything at once. Try to focus on one or a small number of tasks at a time.


5. Take care of yourself

Good health is important when you’re an entrepreneur. Running a business takes a lot out of you. Your small business comes with long nights, early mornings, no weekends and no sick days. Your nonstop life puts strain on your body, and then you add stress on top of that.

You need to take care of yourself. Don’t forget to do the simple things. Drink water throughout the day. Regularly eat. Get some sleep. Try to do some additional things, too. Go to a health food store and buy some natural supplements. Reduce your caffeine consumption. When you’re healthy, your body can better handle the stress.


6. Clean your car, clean your office, clean your room

The renowned personal development guru, Wayne Dwyer, says you can tell the state of a person's mind by the state of their car. Jordan Peterson the physiologist also mentions about cleaning your damn room. if you're feeling overwhelmed one of the most effective strategies is to create order in your immediate environment - car, office, home. As you take charge of your surroundings your feelings of control will increase. And as the esteemed behavioral psychologist Martin Seligman has shown, there's a strong correlation between feelings of control and well being.
